Dynamite Dixon

Dynamite Dixon foamed at the mouth.
Well, at least he had white flecks
at the corners when he was angry
which was almost all the time.

Dynamite Dixon taught French
to little boys at the Grammar School,
had a French wife, a perfect accent
and played piano well.

He practised torture, made boys stand
on desktops, hands above heads
holding up the ceiling
for whole lessons;

got out of control administering the cane
lashing at the head and face,
had to be pulled off by other teachers
and dragged away.

Left the Grammar School eventually
to join a school in London (so I heard)
got beaten up by bigger boys,
had to retire.

I wonder where he is now.
Does he read verse?
He could be reading this.
Are you, Dynamite Dixon?

I remember Dynamite. I was at DGforBoys 1955-60. He was my form master for a while. He bullied all, but had particular falls guys. He broke the arm of a kid called Tanton and beat up Froggy King’s son.He made my life miserable by constant humiliation. He eventually ended up at Leyton Grammar I think. My older brother was up at college and met him in the street in Leytonstone. He didn’t hit him. I wish to this day he had.I would have done.
    A true Bastard.

Hi Alan. Thanks for your comment nice to hear from you. I know how you felt! I understand that they had great difficulty getting rid of him because of the regulations in those days. Ken
