In Between

A wedding song

White crescents droop
in sparkling satin,
wrap new-moons
of light.
Water falls
catching the air
in puffs of powdery
spray.
Golden lights
flash in the darkness
of her bubbling
hair.
Water cascades
through broken rocks
in a river-dance tangle
of joy.

Eyes as bright
as lonely stars
fill with the love
of light
as spray bursts
and displays in the wind
a flutter of
candle flare;

and love unseen
in the in-between
flows into the night.
